Withdraw from Bitfinex to Taiwan: MAX or Bank Wire
Contents

There are two ways to get money from Bitfinex back to Taiwan: send USDT on-chain to MAX and sell it for NTD, or convert to USD on Bitfinex and wire it to your bank. They differ a lot in minimums, fees and time. Before either one, you have to get your money out of active loans.
Fees and limits here were checked against the Bitfinex and MAX official pages on October 1, 2026. They change, so go by what both sites show when you withdraw.

First, get your money out of lending
Money that's already lent can't be called back by the lender. You wait for the loan to expire or for the borrower to repay. Loans can run up to 120 days, so plan ahead if you need the cash by a certain date.
Three steps bring it back.
- Turn off auto-renew. It's per currency, and if you leave it on, returning funds go straight back out as new offers.
- Cancel any offers that haven't filled.
- Wait for active loans to expire or be repaid.

With EZLO, press Pause Bot. Unfilled offers are cancelled and active loans run to their original expiry.
Once the money is back in your funding wallet you can withdraw it from there. The Bitfinex withdrawal form lets you choose which wallet to send from, and transfers between wallets are free anyway.
Route one: send USDT to MAX and sell for NTD
Pick a network both sides support
Four USDT networks can be withdrawn from Bitfinex and deposited to MAX. The Bitfinex withdrawal fee is in brackets.
- TRON (TRC20): free
- Avalanche C-Chain: free
- Aptos: free. MAX added it on September 22, 2026
- Ethereum (ERC20): about 2.15 USDT, adjusted with network conditions
MAX also lists Polygon, Arbitrum One and BSC (BEP20). Bitfinex doesn't support BSC. On Polygon and Arbitrum, Bitfinex uses a separate balance called USDT0, which you have to convert to on the platform before withdrawing. The first four are simpler.
The minimum crypto withdrawal on Bitfinex is the equivalent of 5 USD.
Withdraw
On MAX, open the USDT deposit page, choose the network and copy the deposit address. On Bitfinex, withdraw USDT on the same network and paste the address.
Bitfinex emails you a confirmation link. If you don't confirm within 12 hours, the withdrawal is cancelled. Bitfinex says withdrawals can sometimes take up to 12 hours to process.
Send a small amount first and move the rest once it arrives. An on-chain transfer can't be reversed.
Sell and withdraw NTD
When the USDT arrives, sell it on MAX's USDT/TWD market. At the starting tier the fee is 0.08% for makers and 0.16% for takers.
NTD can only go to the bank account in your own name that's linked to MAX.
- The fee is NT$30 per withdrawal, or free to a linked Bankee account. The minimum is NT$100.
- For a Level 2 personal account the limits are NT$1 million per withdrawal, NT$2 million per 24 hours and NT$5 million per month.
- Requests before 11:00 are sent by 17:00 within 0 to 1 business days. After 11:00 it's 1 to 2 business days.
The transfer rules are changing
Taiwan's Financial Supervisory Commission is phasing in a Travel Rule for virtual asset transfers. Phase one covers transfers between domestic providers only. Transfers between domestic and overseas providers are expected to be covered by the end of 2027. Sending from Bitfinex to MAX may take a few more steps then. Watch MAX's announcements.
Route two: convert to USD and wire it to your bank
If you lent USDT, sell it for USD first on Bitfinex's USDT/USD pair. Bitfinex has charged no spot trading fees since December 17, 2025.
A bank wire has stricter conditions than an on-chain withdrawal.
- Your account needs Full verification.
- The minimum withdrawal is 10,000 USD.
- The fee is 0.1% with a 100 USD minimum. An express wire is 1% with a 125 USD minimum.
- The bank account has to be in your own name and match the details you gave during verification. If your bank needs an intermediary bank, you can add its details when you withdraw.
- Bitfinex sends a regular wire within 5 to 10 business days. It says the whole process takes about 7 business days, and that up to 15 isn't unusual.
Bitfinex's terms of service don't list Taiwan as a prohibited jurisdiction. Whether a Taiwanese bank can receive the wire depends on the supported list shown on the wire page after you log in.
Your bank in Taiwan will charge its own inbound wire fee, which varies by bank. Two numbers matter when you convert the USD to NTD.
- A conversion worth NT$500,000 or more requires a foreign exchange declaration form.
- An individual can convert up to the equivalent of 10 million USD a year directly at the bank. The cap was raised from 5 million on November 1, 2024.
Which route to take
Start with the amount. A wire has a 10,000 USD minimum and costs at least 100 USD, which is 1% on exactly 10,000 USD. The fee only comes down to 0.1% at 100,000 USD and above.
The Bitfinex USD wire fee as a share of the amount withdrawn, at 0.1% with a 100 USD minimum
MAX has no such floor. Send 5,000 USDT over TRON and Bitfinex charges nothing, selling as a taker on MAX costs 0.16%, or 8 USDT, and the NTD withdrawal is NT$30.
Then time. Through MAX the money can reach your bank the same day. Allow one to three weeks for a wire.
The exchange rate differs too. On MAX you get the USDT/TWD market price. With a wire you get your bank's USD buying rate. Check both before you sell.
| USDT to MAX | USD wire | |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum | Equivalent of 5 USD | 10,000 USD |
| Bitfinex fee | Free on TRON, Avalanche and Aptos | 0.1%, 100 USD minimum |
| Further costs | 0.16% taker fee on MAX, NT$30 NTD withdrawal | Your bank's inbound wire fee |
| Time | Can reach your bank the same day | One to three weeks |
| Exchange rate | USDT/TWD market price | Your bank's USD buying rate |

Leave your security settings alone before withdrawing
Bitfinex puts a five-day hold on withdrawals after certain security changes: a password reset, a 2FA reset, and changing or disabling the withdrawal address lock. Withdrawals submitted during the hold are cancelled automatically.
Don't touch those settings in the days before you plan to withdraw.
