Setting up and using EZLO
Signing up, API key permissions, pausing the Bot and keeping your funds safe, all in one place. Can't find an answer? Ask us on Telegram or email service@ezlo.me.
Getting started
Setup takes about 5 minutes:
- Sign up with your email and a password, then click the link in the verification email.
- Follow the setup wizard to create a Bitfinex API key. Turn on the 5 permissions listed below and leave withdrawals off.
- Paste in the key and secret. EZLO checks the key with Bitfinex before saving it.
- Pick USD or USDT, review the defaults and press Confirm and start the Bot.
The Bot places its first offers within a few minutes. Fills show up under Orders.
Bitfinex API key permissions
On the Bitfinex API key page, turn on exactly these:
- Account History · Get historical balances entries and trade information
- Margin Funding · Get funding statuses and info
- Margin Funding · Offer, cancel and close funding
- Wallets · Get wallet balances and addresses
- IP Access restrictions · Allow access from any IP
Withdrawals stays off.So do Account Info, Orders, Margin Trading and Settings. When you add the key, EZLO only checks that "Offer, cancel and close funding" is on. It doesn't check withdrawals, so double-check that one yourself.
How the Bot works
Every 2 minutes, the Bot checks the Bitfinex funding market and your funding wallet. Money that's available gets offered at rates based on what's actually filling, in offers of at least 150 USD. Offers that don't fill are cancelled and placed again closer to the market.
When a borrower repays or a loan ends, the money goes back on offer automatically. Bitfinex pays interest into your funding wallet once a day, and that gets offered too.
What rate can I expect?
It depends on the market. Bitfinex USD lending has run around 3% APR in quiet markets and above 30% in hot ones. Bitfinex quotes rates per day: 0.01% a day is about 3.65% APR, and 0.1% a day is about 36.5%.
The real numbers for each month are in our monthly rate report. EZLO follows the market. It doesn't predict it or guarantee a return.
Is my money safe?
Your funds never leave Bitfinex. EZLO works through your API key: it can place and cancel funding offers, but it can't withdraw, and it never holds your money.
If EZLO disappeared tomorrow, your funds and active loans would still be in your own Bitfinex account. Lending itself still carries risks, from the exchange to rate swings; see Is Bitfinex lending safe?
Two-factor authentication
Strongly recommended. Turn it on in Settings with any authenticator app.
From then on, signing in asks for a 6-digit code, and so does adding an API key, so someone who steals your session can't swap in their own key. Backup codes are shown only once, during setup. Keep them somewhere safe.
Telegram alerts
Optional, but recommended. For urgent events, like the Bot pausing or your API key being deactivated, Telegram is the fastest way to reach you.
In Settings, press Connect Telegram, then press START in the Telegram chat that opens.
Pausing the Bot
Press Pause Boton the Overview page. The Bot stops placing new offers and cancels any offers that haven't filled yet. Loans that are already out keep earning until the borrower repays or the term ends, since Bitfinex doesn't let lenders recall them early.
Resume any time, and the Bot is back within a few minutes.
