Bitfinex Funding Offer Not Filling? What to Check

You placed a funding offer on Bitfinex and no interest is coming in. Either the money never went out as an offer, or the offer is on the book and nobody is taking it. Check in that order. The first four items can be confirmed from your own account pages.

Two causes: four checks for money that never went out, and four for an offer nobody takes

Is the money in your funding wallet?

Lending only uses the balance in your funding wallet. Deposits usually land in the exchange wallet, so you need one internal transfer first. Transfers between Bitfinex wallets are free and instant.

Do you have at least 150 USD?

A single funding offer has to be at least 150 USD or the equivalent in another currency. Anything smaller returns an error when you submit it.

Auto-renew follows the same rule. It only places an offer once the available balance in your funding wallet reaches the equivalent of 150 USD. Daily interest below that amount stays in the wallet until enough has built up for another offer.

Is your account verified to the right level?

Accounts created after March 1, 2022 need Intermediate verification to use margin funding. Older accounts can use it with Basic Plus.

Check your auto-renew settings

Auto-renew is switched on per currency. Turning it on for USD does nothing for USDT.

Each currency has three fields: max amount, period and rate. Max amount caps how much of that currency goes out. Once the total already offered or lent reaches it, auto-renew stops placing offers even if the wallet still has funds. Remember to raise it when you add principal.

Once the amount lent out plus the amount on offer reaches the max amount, the rest of the wallet stays idle

Your rate is above the market

Bitfinex matches on rate, and lower-rate offers tend to fill first. If your rate sits above a long row of offers on the funding book, borrowers have to take all of those before they reach yours.

Two places show where the market is. On the Funding page, one side of the Funding Book lists lenders' offers, and the first few rows are the lowest asks right now. Matched shows recent fills with their rate, period and amount. The book is what lenders are asking. Matched is what borrowers actually paid.

You chose FRR

An FRR offer only matches FRR bids. It never fills against a fixed-rate bid. Bitfinex says FRR offers fill only when the market borrowing rate meets or exceeds FRR.

FRR is a weighted average of active loans, including older ones that filled at higher rates, so it can sit well above the rate currently trading. On October 1, 2026, Bitfinex's public market data showed USD FRR at about 11.2% a year, the lowest offer on the book at about 5.0%, and roughly 300 million USD of FRR offers waiting. At times like that an FRR offer waits a long time. How FRR is calculated is covered in What is FRR?

On October 1, 2026 USD FRR was 11.2% a year while the lowest offer on the book was 5.0%

Your period is too short

Bids have a period too. Bitfinex's own example: a bid looking for 10 days only matches an offer with a period of 10 days or more. A 2-day offer can't take demand from anyone who wants to borrow for longer.

When a borrower wants 10 days, a 2-day offer doesn't match, while 10-day and 30-day offers can

The period is the longest a borrower can keep your money, and they can repay early, so a longer period doesn't mean the money is locked up for that long. The trade-offs are in Bitfinex lending period.

You're looking at the wrong market

USD and USDT are two separate funding markets on Bitfinex, each with its own book and rates. Bitfinex's ticker for USDT is UST. When you check rates, make sure you're on the currency your offer is in.

It filled, then came straight back

Money that returns to your funding wallet soon after going out can look like an offer that never filled. Borrowers can repay at any time. When they return funds manually, Bitfinex charges them at least one hour of interest, and interest accrues by the second after that.

An offer can also fill in part, split across several borrowers, with the rest staying on the book.

Returned money earns nothing until it's offered again. Auto-renew places a new offer when a loan expires, a borrower repays early, interest is credited or new funds arrive, using the one rate and period you entered.

If you use a lending bot

A bot places offers for you, so the same conditions apply: the money is in your funding wallet, the balance is at least 150 USD, and the account can use margin funding.

Two more things to check: whether the API key has funding write permission, and whether the bot is paused. The Bot status on the EZLO dashboard flags these cases: funding wallet under 150 USD, no API key connected, Bot paused.

EZLO checks the market every 2 minutes, prices offers off the rates that are actually filling, and re-offers money as soon as it returns to your funding wallet. If you'd rather tune things by hand, see Bitfinex lending tips.
